Belarus Taking Delivery of Su-30SMs in 2019

Belarus will receive its first batch of Su-30SMs in 2019.

The Belarusian Ministry of Defense announced on January 30, 2019, “In line with the contract, the first lot of Su-30SM aircraft will be delivered in 2019. The lot consists of four aircraft.” Irkut Corporation, which produces the aircraft, confirmed the planned delivery as well during Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu’s visit to the company’s Irkutsk Aviation Plant in Irkutsk.

Overall, the Belarusian Air Force will receive 12 jets. In June 2017, Russia and Belarus completed a contract for the purchase.
