Algeria is seemingly a buyer for the 220mm TOS-1A multiple-launch rocket system (MLRS).
Video footage uploaded in early August of the previous month’s Majd 2017 military exercises showed a TOS-1A on a military display, indicating that the MLRS had either been purchased by Algeria or was undergoing testing by the country’s military.

DefenceWeb reported that the manufacturer, Omsktransmash, confirmed the delivery during Russia’s Army-2017 military exhibition. The purchase reportedly occurred several years ago but had not been previously acknowledged.
A source at NPO Splav also reportedly confirmed the delivery to Algeria.
It is not known how many systems Algeria purchased.
The TOS-1A fires up to 24 220mm rockets, to a range of up to six kilometers.
