Gulfstream C-37B – U.S. Air Force/Airman 1st Class Breanna Klemm
The U.S. Air Force has awarded a $127.4 million contract to Gulfstream Aerospace for the delivery of two C-37B aircraft. The contract was awarded using funding from the recently passed FY20 defense appropriations bill. The service’s FY20 budget request included $161 million for two C-37Bs, based on the G550, to replace C-20B (Gulfstream III) aircraft that were retired in 2017. The new aircraft will be used as executive transports.
The aircraft will be built in Savannah, Georgia, and delivered by September 2021. The firm-fixed price contract was a sole-source acquisition. The Air Force Life Cycle Management Center, Tinker Air Force Base, Oklahoma, is the contracting activity. (FA8134‐20-F‐3100)
