Senate Armed Services Committee Announces Budget Markup Schedule

The U.S. Senate Armed Services Committee has announced its schedule for marking up the Pentagon’s FY21 budget request, which was released back in February.

The full committee markup will take place on Wednesday, June 10, and will extend to the following day if necessary.  Defense subcommittee meetings will begin two days earlier, with the Subcommittee on Readiness and the Subcommittee on Strategic Forces meeting June 8.  The remaining subcommittees will meet on June 9, which include the subcommittees on emerging threats and capabilities, airland, personnel, seapower, and cybersecurity.

All markups with the exception of the Subcommittee on Personnel will be closed to the press and public.

The House was originally planning to begin its markup at the end of April, but the process was postponed due to COVID-19.  The House has not released its revised FY21 markup schedule.
