The U.S. Army’s signals intelligence system equips HMMWVs, MRAPs and other vehicles, providing force protection and situational awareness support to U.S. Army Brigade Combat Team (BCT) and Expeditionary – Military Intelligence Brigade (E-MIB) commanders while enabling effective engagement of enemy forces. The Army will spend $269 million on program procurement and enhancements through 2021.
PROPHET provides situational awareness by electronically mapping radio frequency emitters on the battlefield and providing commanders with communications/radar intercept and direction-finding capabilities.
Currently in development is PROPHET Enhanced. This new version will be equipped with a next-generation, manpack receiver signal-of-interest (SOI). A notable attribute of the PROPHET Enhanced is its open architecture, a feature that will allow the Army to update the system much faster and more efficiently than possible with older versions of PROPHET.
