Oman Receives Hawk Trainers

Oman has taken delivery of its first two Mark 166 Hawk jet trainers.

The two Hawk trainers arrived on July 29, according to Defaiya. The aircraft were delivered to Masirah Air Base.

The first Hawk aircraft was rolled out in May of this year, alongside the first Typhoon. Oman ordered 12 Eurofighter Typhoons and eight Hawk trainer aircraft back in December 2012.

Deliveries of the first two Typhoons began in June. The aircraft arrived at Adam Air Base.

The new Hawks will help Omani pilots prepare for flying the Air Force’s fleet of fighter jets.
